In our Sunday school lessons we have been learning and discussing Isaiah for the past several weeks. My personal study has been listening to those that understand it much better than me. It has left me appreciating the visionary that Isaiah was. His descriptions of the times he saw are so visual and help you not only understand but visualize what he is trying to teach us. I have been left with a clear visualization of what he wants me to do- ground myself in JESUS CHRIST and look up to the GOD that created me.
Isaiah knew his SAVIOR. His words are bursting with adoration and intimate knowledge of who HE was and is. Isaiah 28:16
Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
“tried,” “precious,” and “sure”
He not only knows that the LORD GOD has the best attributes to be our foundation…but that HE should be our foundation NOW, “not make haste.”
In Isaiah 41:10 he shares what the LORD wants us to know-
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
“strengthen,” “help,” and “uphold”
Once we have our foundation in CHRIST set…we are asked to LOOK to GOD
Isaiah 45:22
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Isaiah 40:26
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
“lift up your eyes!”
Isaiah 60:1
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
“Arise!”
Isaiah 51:6
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

This world is temporary, imperfect and filled with trials. Our Father in Heaven wants us to trust HIM, look to HIM and love HIM. He wants us to believe in our SAVIOR and to make HIM our foundation.
The temple is a symbol of this…a solid foundation built on JESUS CHRIST with everything about it both physically and spiritually pointing us to GOD to arise, look up and believe.
